No matter what happens tonight, I’m proud of the Sharks and I’m proud to be a Sharks fan.
Today is Game 7 of the Sharks/Kings series in the first round of the playoffs this year. I recently went to Game 2, and have been changing my nails for the games just to keep the spirit up 🙂
I used A-England’s St. George for the game I went to, and then used Zoya’s Charla for games 3-6. Since I’ve previously swatched those, I didn’t think you needed to see them again! Especially since they’re colors that I put here on the blog often.
But last night I wanted to change it up completely for tonight’s game so I posted on Instagram asking what I should do for my nails. I got an overwhelmingly large amount of “GLITTER!” so that’s what I went with.
I used Nubar’s Teal Glitter, OPI’s The Living Daylights and Deborah Lippmann’s Just Dance. With three different glitters I liked the mixing of textures, and colors. Mixing different types of glitters is one of my favorite things to do because it keeps things interesting and not just a glitter bomb on the nail (not that there’s anything wrong with that haha).
This manicure is so glitzy and teal – I’m very excited about it lol.
Nubar’s Teal Glitter is a very fine glitter in a clear base, so it layered perfectly without getting too thick. I have 3 coats on. Deboarh Lippmann’s Just Dance is very similar, just with a teal base. Here I have 2 coats.
OPI’s The Living Daylights was meant to be a top coat so I had to fidget with it a little but it was worth it. I did the “Dab and Spread” technique to initially get a good amount of glitter on the nail. After that dried I added another “Dab and Spread” coat to get full glitter coverage.
For a top coat I used Seche Vite. Teal Glitter and Just Dance tend to suck in top coats so I ended up using two coats of Seche Vite.
So, here’s to hoping the Sharks win tonight, and for a good, fun game. 🙂
