The Deborah Lippmann glitters also come in a really easy to layer formula – the base isn’t too thick so the polish goes on really nicely and doesn’t get to thick on the nail.
At the beginning of summer I received a bunch of lovely goodies all the way from the UK from my dear friend Jess. She brought me some Sleek and Barry M items, and I’ve been loving them!
The Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint polishes are thicker formula polishes with super shine. I’ve shown you a couple of them before. Prickly Pear is one of my favorites though because I love my purples 🙂 It’s a pastel lavender color, but it’s not too milky and not too light.
On top I layered some of Deborah Lippmann’s “Happy Birthday”, which is the original chunky rainbow glitter. It seems like every brand has one of these polishes now, but Deborah Lippmann was the very first to do it. I feel like her mix of glitter has less pink and blue in it though – a lot of the other brands don’t have the really primary yellow and orange that you see in the Deborah Lippmann version. That may just be me though.
For this manicure I used OPI’s Nail Envy and KB Shimmer’s Fast Dry Top Coat as base and top coats respectively. Again, I had this mani on for a day because it was part of my Instagram 31 Day Nail Challenge.
Since purple is one of my favorite colors, I wish I wore it more often – I’ve actually worn a ton more blues and greens. Are there any purples that you guys recommend I try? Let me know in the comments below!
