About 3 months ago A-England released a new collection of holos called the Burne-Jones Dream collection. It’s a series of super pigmented (which is always the case with A-England) scattered holos that are inspired by the artist Edward Burne-Jones. As with all of her collections, they’re a fairly gothically influenced set of colors. Even though there are brighter colors in the collection, they’re still got a slight tinge of darkness to them. I personally love it, but it may not be for everyone, color-wise ๐Ÿ™‚
There are 5 colors in the collection:
  • Briar Rose – this is a blackened magenta base that has a slight red shimmer and a scattered holo to it. Opaque in 2 coats, almost one. This was a super rich formula that really had no fuss to it.
  • Briarwood – blackened Venetian red that shifts to a deep, burgundy, almost brown red with a scattered holo to it. Opaque in 2 coats, almost one. Again, it had a super rich formula, with no fuss, and it made the polish seem even more rich and almost velvety.ย
  • Fated Prince – graphite gray with a scattered holo. There’s a slight gold sheen to it, that’s only visible in sunlight. The formula of this one was different than the other two. Mine had a slightly jelly feel to it, it wasn’t as opaque as the other four that I tried out. It was opaque in 3 coats.
  • Rose Bower – red rose petal like color with a soft reddish pink shimmer and a scattered holo. This one has a real, petal like finish to it, which is sort of slightly shimmery, slightly with a sheen, but also creamy looking, if that makes sense. The holo in this one is much less evident than the other four. It as the same opaque formula as Briar Rose and Briarwood though so it was opaque in 2 coats and really easy to deal with.
  • Sleeping Palace – muted wisteria like purple with a slight berry undertone to it. It’s got a really beautiful grayed out feel to it; it’s not a super vibrant purple but it’s not a gray either. It’s sort of got the quality of a lavender flower – where it’s clearly purple, but that slight fuzz it has gives it a slightly muted appearance. The holo is super strong in this polish, and it was opaque in 2 coats with the same super awesome formula.
You can purchase these polishes on Llarowe for $10 each. If you live in the UK it may just be easier to purchase straight from the A-England website, where it retails for ยฃ9.
Swatch wise – all the swatches has 2 coats, except for Fated Prince which has 3 just so I could get to full opacity and have no visible nail line.
Enjoy!!!
