About 2 years ago Sam on Pixiwoo used this lipstick in a tutorial and I was totally in love.
I’ve had it on my mental wishlist for 2 years, and even though we have completely different pigmentation and features, I still have always wanted it because it just looked so pretty in that video.
This is definitely not just a “yeah I’ll just buy that” sort of product so I ended up finally getting it when I was ordering on Nordstrom online for my mom’s birthday gift. Estee Lauder was having an awesome sampler set as their gift w/ purchase so I ended up getting a full sized skincare product for her and this lipstick for myself.
Estee Lauder’s lipsticks have that vintage “proper” lipstick smell to them. My mom used to have a ton which I always remember smelling when I was little (I was a sniffer as a child. I still am.). They still totally smell like that.
I think the Crystal Color lipsticks are supposed to be their less intense line of lipsticks.
Crystal Baby is a neutral beige type color with a coral undertone. It’s beige enough that it looks less coral on me. It’s a great everyday color.
The formula is soft and has a slight sheen to it. It’s like the Lustre finish by Mac.
I really do like this lipstick – it lives up to all my hopes and dreams, but I don’t think I’m going to purchase any other Estee Lauder lipsticks since they’re so much more expensive than say Mac, and they have a limited color range. The reason they have that sort of product range though is because it’s geared toward older women, who basically stay faithful to one brand and always return back.
I’m happy with this lipstick though, and can definitely see myself using this quite a bit, and also probably sharing it with mom once in a while lol.
