This was part of my birthday gift from Sara… sorry it’s taken me so long to finally get to posting swatches of things! I’m sorry but again – school and work take priority 🙂
Benefit recently released glosses to match some of their most popular boxed powders. I’m a huge fan of Benefit, especially their boxed powders, so I was very curious and excited to start trying out their new glosses. I’ve talked about this before but Benefit re-designed their entire product line about 4 years ago and got rid of my FAVORITE gloss of all time. They reformulated and repackaged everything. The scent was pretty much the only thing that remained of their first line of lipglosses.
These glosses have the same scent but seem to be reminiscent of their first glosses, especially texture wise.
Coralista is a reddish coral, very similar to Mac’s Viva Glam Cyndi. It’s not as opaque as Cyndi but the base color is very similar. It comes packaged in a squeeze tube, not a hard plastic tube with separating applicator like their other glosses. It has a slanted applicator, the same as every other squeeze tube gloss.
The gloss is on the thicker side, but not like a balm. It’s slightly stickier but has a very high shine. The color isn’t completely opaque, like I said before, it’s more like a tinted gloss. It gives a really nice tint on the lips, especially because of the nice color base it has. The warm, light red doesn’t go on patchy or anything like some tinted glosses do. It feels pretty moisturizing but not completely. I got a good four hours of wear from it.
Benefit has 5 other colors to choose from, most of them looking pretty sheer versus a full cover gloss. They retail for $16 each, which is kind of pricey, and all correspond to one of their face powders. These can be purchased at Sephora, Benefit Stores as well as department stores like Macys.
