Benefit, as well as other brands, sometimes release exclusive to Sephora products. Most of the time, it’s a pack of samples, or some sort of starter kit. Sometimes there will be a brand that releases a palette or a nail collection but generally, if it’s a makeup product, it’s generally not going to be a full size. That’s why when I saw this deal in Sephora’s coupon tab, I was totally shocked because it was so out of the ordinary, especially for a brand like Benefit.
The deal that was going on for that period of time, was with any $25 purchase you’d get a free, full-sized Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Silver Spoon. Previously they had 2 colors, the other was a purple, but I didn’t see that in time. Knowing how great the Benefit Crème Shadows are, I instantly used that coupon and was very excited to have seen that before it went down.
Silver Spoon is a mid-toned silver that’s not too warm nor cool. It’s not incredibly metallic, almost more like a shimmery gray, rather than what you would regularly qualify as “silver”.
Like all the Benefit crème shadows, this was very creamy, and had good pigmentation. The silver didn’t go on sheer at all, although I know by experience with the Benefit shadows that they’re pretty easy to sheer out. If you want just a sheer wash of color, you can totally do that with these. I bring this up because some cream shadows don’t go sheer all that well, and just go patchy instead.
The easiest way to apply them, I have found, is just with your finger. It works ok with a brush but applying it was just easier with my finger because I had more control over how much I wanted to layer on the product.
I don’t have a neutral gray or silver base, so I’m happy to finally have one, especially from Benefit!
