Another new purchase that I’m really excited to share with you all are these two polishes, which I bought fully intending to use together, Essie’s “Lady Like” and Sally Hansen’s “Razzle Dazzler” from the new Gem Crush collection.
I’ve always liked Essie polishes. They work phenomenally well with my nails and are always easy to work with. They’re always very pigmented, have great dry time, and last a long time on me. “Lady Like” is a soft light mauve creme. This was 2 coats of the polish over Nubar’s Foundation Base Coat and under a coat of Poshe’s fast dry top coat (GASP! Not Seche Vite!!). “Lady Like” is from their fall collection this year.
On top of that I ended up layering Sally Hansen’s “Razzle Dazzler” which is a soft rose pink microglitter, with bigger silver glitters dispersed within it all in a clear base. This is from their new Gem Crush line, which I think is their winter collection and answer to all the glitters that have been released, namely the China Glaze Eye Candy Collection, which is full of glitters with this texture. The Gem Crush collection also has a few dupes of the Eye Candy collection, but that’s for another post.
I love the Sally Hansen Gem Crush colors I have (I bought about 4 of them, which will be up soon in a drugstore haul), except for the brush. It’s fat, short and stupid. I wish Sally Hansen would regulate their brushes and just stick with one type. I have 3 different Sally Hansen brushes from 3 different lines they have and they all suck. All of them. And they’re all different. It’s stupid.
Regardless, “Razzle Dazzler” is very pretty and delicate for a glitter. Great if you want something more neutral. Layered on top of Essie’s “Lady Like” it gives a very gentle and delicate and neutral but unique sort of look to the nail. It’s a good way to incorporate glitter to your nails if you work in a professional setting and can’t do anything too flashy.
Sally Hansen Gem Crush is available now in drugstores and retail between $5 and $7 (I would totally suggest looking for coupons or deals like buy one get one!). Essie is also available in drugstores, and retails for between $8 and $9.
