There’s nothing more that I love right now than the Nfu Oh Flaky nail polishes. I LOVE THEM. I can’t get enough of them. Everything about them is just stunning and perfect in my opinion.
Nfu Oh is most well known for their holographic polishes, and then for their flaky polishes. Their holographic polishes are always sold out though, and I feel like I’ve had my fill of holo polishes, especially because they’re readily available now with brands like Milani and Color Club making holographic polishes.
Their flaky polishes, on the other hand are completely unique.
The texture of them is perfect. Unlike Color Club’s Covered In Diamonds, the flakes in these don’t curl at all and the base doesn’t dry to a dried glue type of look. These polishes are very beautiful, opalescent flakes in colored and transparent bases. Each polishes also has a duochrome to it that’s so much more than the standard duochrome.
Nfu Oh makes a huge range of colors as well. These are just the ones that interested me most due to the base color and the type of duochrome involved (teal).
Basically these polishes end up looking like very beautiful scales – iridescent and glassy. Mermaid-y even.
Since I’ve been obsessed with them, I swatched them a bunch of times – over white, over black, with a matte top coat, over a creme teal and over a creme purple.
They retail for $12.50 each and can be found on fabuloustreet.com.
The packaging for these are just too cute to not mention. Each bottle is shaped like a dress, the cap being the top corset and the bottle being the skirt. The front and the back are different, the back having a pleated looking skirt bit.
This is probably the most complex of the 3 that I have. It’s a bluish purple jelly base with flakies that have orange/red and green duochrome to them. Dispersed into the polish as well are very small shimmers that have the same duochrome. Perhaps super small flakes? I don’t know. It’s SO pretty though. Rainbow in a purple base.
The green duochrome looks particularly alien-like with the tiny shimmers in it, and the orange/red parts look like burning embers. The tiny shimmers make it have an unexpected and very pretty depth to it.
This is one of the 10 clear based flakies they have. It’s got iridescent turquoise/teal/blue pieces in it. It looks very mermaid scale-y in the bottle. It’s to die for. At certain angles it’s very dark blue, some it’s very green. It constantly shimmers in-between though.
The base of it doesn’t dry slightly matte like some clear based glitters do. It dries glossy.
This is my favorite to put under a matte top coat and over a black polish. It looks gorgeous. And it has a slightly beetle’s wing like property to it. It’s so so so pretty!
This is a green jelly base with green and blue duochrome flakes.
This one was surprisingly pretty over a purple base. The base color doesn’t muddy up the purple and makes me think it’ll be cool to layer over other non-conventional pairings as well.
The little shimmers in the polish that mirror the properties of the flakes are exceptionally beautiful in this polish. It makes it look like a green galaxy on the nail.
