It’s been a while since I did a post for a month’s favorites. But (as the video stated) this is also a haul post so there are lots of photos and swatches of things I just recently bought.
There are separate posts for the nail polishes (Essie Braziliant, Nfu Oh and the misc OPI) but these are the rest of the swatches for the rest of the items.
I’ve really been loving creme face products this month – blushes and bronzers and highlighters. They’ve all been used with my Mac 109 as well (not pictured).
The blushes have all leaned on the corally pink side and well, I only have one creme bronzer.
Keep reading for pictures 🙂
L’Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes
New mascara time! I’ve been searching for a new “does it all” mascara. This isn’t really it, but I do like it. It’s not a bad mascara. I think I like L’Oréal’s Telescopic mascara better, because it lengthens so well, but this one lengthens pretty well too. I think the brush is a little to thick for my liking. It also has a very distinct smell to it too. Not my favorite mascara, but not low on the list either.
Illamasqua Pure Pigment “Furore”
I’ve been using this quite a bit this past month both on my lids as a shadow and as a nice highlight for he cheeks. The pigment itself is very very smooth. It’s got a beigey gold tone and has very fine gold glitters inside it as well. It’s quite pigmented so a little goes a long way. It’s great as a summery highlight because of the gold undertones.
Smashbox Photo Finish Luminizing Oil-Free Foundation Primer
Again with the glowy cheek theme, I’ve been using this over my cheekbones after I put my foundation on. I normally applied this with my small duo-fiber brush (shown in the first photo) and just blended it into the cheekbones. It’s a nice golden tan with a subtle shimmer that’s not too overwhelming. I’d probably never use this as a foundation primer since I think it’d be too shimmery all over the face, especially because I have oily skin. This is only a sample size that I have and it has lasted me quite a while since I only use the tiniest amount on the tops of my cheekbones.
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil “Dolce Vita”This I LOVE. I had been wanting a Nars product in the shade “Dolce Vita”. I went in thinking I’d get a lipstick but then I saw the Velvet Matte Lip Pencils and I decided to get it instead. It’s very multi-tasking. It works great as a matte lipstick, but also works great as a lip tint if used over a lip balm. Since it is matte it does have a slightly dry texture to it, but it doesn’t flake off like some matte products do.
Nars Multiple “Portofino”
When I went in for a multiple I also went in thinking I’d get something else. I was going for “Orgasm” or one of the highlighting products like “Copacabana” or “Luxor” because they looked so pretty. “Orgasm” I have as a blush so when the sales girl suggested “Portofino” I decided to go for it. It’s a little redder and deeper than “Orgasm” is but still has a nice peachiness to it as well as a gold sheen.
I’ve used this both with a brush as well as straight from the tube. I like applying it strait from the tube and then blending it out with my finger, but when using with a Mac 109, it buffs in quite well and looks a little more natural. Below the swatches (middle and right photos) have a straight application then a blended out swatch.
Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired By Carmindy Sheerest Cream Blush “Beaming”
There were 2 shades of this available at CVS and they looked the same in their lighting. So I sort of just… picked lol. The other was slightly redder and less peachy. The texture of this is less creamy and a little stiffer. It blends very nicely though and looks very pretty on the cheek. I’ve used this both with a brush and with fingers and I think it applies the best with a duo fiber brush. It looks nice with fingers it just seems to have a less sticky looking finish with a brush.
Mac Creme Blush “Ladyblush”I bought this before their regular creme blush line went discontinued and before they re-released and made permanent the cremeblend blush line. They have a color called “Ladyblush” in the new formula and I’m assuming they’re the same color. This is very much a lady-like color. Pink but not too pink. Natural pink. The Mac creme blushes are in between in texture – not as solid as the Sally hanse, not as overly soft and melty as the Nyx (which are below).
Nyx Cream Blush “Tea Rose”The Nyx blushes are the softest of the creme blushes I have. “Tea Rose” is the more warm toned of the two. It’s got a slightly more red/brown tone to it as well. Only a little amount is enough for these creme blushes, since they’re so pigmented. They feel the stickiest on the face though because of that. It’s a good summer color though since it’s so warm.
Nyx Cream Blush “Rose Petal”
“Rose Petal” is the more pink of the two. It’s also very pigmented and rather on the sticky side.

Mac Creme Bronzer “Beach Bronze”
This is simply the only creme bronzer that I have which is why it’s the one I picked for my favorites. I didn’t use to love it but I’ve liked the way it sits on the skin. It also has a slight shimmer to it which picks up very nicely in the sun. It’s not silly looking though.
Mac Blush “Tenderling”
This is the only permanent Mac blush that I have. It’s a very neutral and very wearable dusty rose with slight brown tones to it. It’s got a very brown look to it in the pan but when worn it’s very natural and pretty. It’s a Sheertone so it’s not too strong and can be built up very nicely.
