About 2 weeks ago I went and got a manicure. I rarely do this… mostly because I can paint my own nails and I figure, unless I go for the full mani/pedi then it’s a waste of my time and money. So I went to the for the full mani/pedi experience and decided I wanted something nice, and springy, and juicy and punchy and just summery.
It has been really nice weather here where I live so I wanted something to match that feeling.
The place I went to (I don’t really have a standard salon I go to) has a giant and randomly organized color selection so it was just by chance that I ended up picking one of the Texas colors by OPI that I didn’t purchase.
It came from the part of the collection that had the “Sorbet” finish, which is just another word for “Jelly”.
The color itself was called “Big Hair Big Nails” and it’s a very candy like red/coral color. I actually have no idea which base and top coat they used on me… but the photo on the left is after about 8 days of wear. So, pretty good right? They put 3 coats on my nails and you can clearly see that these polishes were meant to be sheer.
I realized when I had gone home, that the color looked ultra familiar to me and that I realized that the color was pretty much the same as Mac’s “Scorcher” from their To The Beach collection last year. “Scorcher” though, is a bit more orange, and slightly more opaque. On the photo on the right, I have “Scorcher” on my index and ring fingers.
