The usual number is 10 but since I have so many more OPI polishes than the rest I figured I’d do 15.

My favorite part of OPI has to be it’s availability. OPI not only makes their standard polishes but also Sephora by OPI as well as Nicole. Their pro-wide brush also is a great feature in the brand. It makes applying the polishes easy, especially because I have a smaller nail.
They can be on the expensive side… individually they’re about $8-9 each. On etailers they can vary from $5-6.
The shade range is also quite extensive although they seem to discontinue colors as fast as they release new collections. This may not seem like a problem to some people, but when they discontinue colors like “Parlez-Vous OPI” makes me super sad, and they don’t release direct dupes for them. Their colors are more standardly based around salon colors, so lots of reds, neutrals and light pinks. Lots of creme finishes as well. They have been releasing more “interesting” colors though – lots of shimmers, glitters and nontraditional shades. With that being said, since they do release colors so frequently, a lot of colors are also limited edition and get sold out really quickly because they’re so on demand.
Generally, the polishes are pigmented and aren’t fussy. Some times they are though.
If I were to pick which brand was a favorite based on the amount of polishes I have, then it would be OPI. Just based on their availability, consistency of release and generally solid polish quality. For me, I can get OPI polishes much more easily than China Glaze, and they’re less expensive in store than Essie is. Although the other brands all have fantastic qualities to specific features in their line, like Nubar and their Glitters, Zoya and their incredible shade range and customer service, when it comes down to an overall rating, I would rate OPI the highest.

Pictures and swatches are after the jump!
OPI Gargantuan Green Grape,warmvanillasugar0823
Gargantuan Green Grape

This is a minty green with a creme finish. I included this into my spring favorites for last year as well as this year. It’s very easy to wear as a green and is also very easy to apply. It’s pigmented in 3 coats. It’s probably one of my favorite spring polishes.

OPI Smitten With Mittens,warmvanillasugar0823
Smitten With Mittens

The most unfortunate thing about this polish is that it was a holiday color from last year, and that it sold out super fast. That being said, it’s probably my favorite red nail polish. Ever. It’s a jelly, holiday red with a red and gold shimmer in it. It’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s close to Ali’s Big Break from the Burlesque collection, though the shimmer in that one is more pink. Smitten With Mittens is the best holiday red though. I love it. It’s also pretty close to Ruby Pumps by China Glaze as well, but that one is a little cooler of a red and a little more transparent. For me, Ali’s Big Break is probably the closest. Not a direct match though.

OPI Cajun Shrimp,warmvanillasugar0823
Cajun Shrimp

This is a warm orangey red. Very pretty and perfect for summer. It’s similar to the red polish from Mac from the To The Beach Collection, although that one was much more sheer. This one is quite opaque. It’s also a permanent shade that can be found pretty easily.

OPI Who Needs A Prince,warmvanillasugar0823
Who Needs A Prince

I think this is my favorite sheer color. It’s a very soft, light pink jelly with a red iridescence to it which makes it look slightly more pink than it actually is. It’s sheer so it’s not supposed to be overly opaque and thus a visible nail line does occur. It’s also permanent so it’s quite easy to find.

OPI My Private Jet,warmvanillasugar0823
My Private Jet

This is a mushroomy brown packed with tons of holographic particles and really slight gold shimmer. It’s a very sought after polish so it can be decently hard to find but it’s not that difficult. It’s also very cool with a matte top coat. It’s pretty opaque, but still needs 3 coats to get a good punch out of it.

warmvanillasugar0823,OPI You Don't Know Jacques
You Don’t Know Jacques

This is one of the most popular fall shades from OPI. It was originally from the France collection and it’s a very chic mushroom-taupe brown. It’s also pretty pigmented. This was 2 coats. Its also permanent so it’s very easy to find.

OPI Who The Shrek Are You?,warmvanillasugar0823
Who The Shrek Are You?

This was from the limited edition movie collaboration that OPI did with the new Shrek film that came out over the summer. It’s still pretty easy to find though. It’s a true, swampy, ogre green. As unappealing as that sounds written out, it’s actually a really nice color to wear. The fact that it’s not too bright and punchy makes it much more wearable than other greens. It’s formula can get a little goopy though.

OPI Katy Perry Collection,OPI Katy Perry,OPI Last Friday Night,warmvanillasugar0823
Last Friday Night

This was from the most recent, and most sought after Katy Perry collection. Which, unfortunately means that it’s almost impossible to find now. It’s a very transparent blue jelly with a bunch of larger iridescent glitter in it. It’s probably better for layering, since it can get chunky. It’s so pretty though. I love it above and beyond the other blues I own.

OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui,OPI Hong Kong,warmvanillasugar0823
Suzi Says Feng Shui

Creme midtone teal from the Hong Kong collection. It is for sure one of my go to teal colors. The formula is great. It’s not sticky at all and it’s really opaque. It’s still easy to find. Definitely something I highly recommend to those who like teals. It can look slightly bluer in some lights and slightly greener in others – never really looks green though.

OPI,OPI Ski Teal We Drop,OPI Swiss,warmvanillasugar0823
Ski Teal We Drop

This is like the darker sister of Suzi Says Feng Shui. It’s a true, deep, pacific teal color. This one is also greatly opaque and 2 coats is perfect for it. This was from the Swiss collection so it’s also really easy to find.

OPI Pamplona Purple,OPI Spain,warmvanillasugar0823
Pamplona Purple

This was from the Spain collection. It’s a semi-bright berry purple color. This is probably one of my favorite fall colors. I like that it’s still brighter but not too bright so it’s not overly pop-y in the fall. It’s pretty unique in my stash as a purple, and that’s saying something because I have so many purple colors. I think it’ll also look good on a lot of different skin tones as well.

OPI Merry Midnight,warmvanillasugar0823
Merry Midnight

This was from the same holiday collection as Smitten With Mittens. It’s like Fab Frenzy Superglass by Mac in nail polish form. Or I guess the other way around since this came first. Anyways, it’s a deep, grape juice like purple jelly with flakey, gold opalescent glitter in it.

OPI Have You Seen My Limo?,warmvanillasugar0823
Have You Seen My Limo?

This one was one that I sort of just stumbled upon. My friend had it done on her nails and brought it into class one day and I was totally intrigued by it. It’s a dark, shimmery reddish purple with a teal duochrome to it. It doesn’t photograph the easiest at all, so you can’t really see the duochrome. It definitely shows up on the nail though. It’s very unique and one of my favorite purples.

OPI Parlez-Vous OPI?,warmvanillasugar0823
Parlez-Vous OPI?

This is another one of my favorite purples. It’s a grayed out purple color. Not too gray though because it doesn’t venture into the gray-brown purple range. It’s got a little bit more color in it so it’s another one of the more bright fall colors. Unfortunately, OPI discontinued this color so it’s not available for purchase in stores or online on the etailers anymore. Super sad, seeing as that it’s such a unique and pretty color. The formula was also great. It’s opaque in 2 and not sticky at all.

OPI Lincoln Park After Dark,warmvanillasugar0823
Lincoln Park After Dark This is probably one of the most popular, if not the most popular, colors by OPI. It’s a very dark, vampy creme purple. It’s opaque in 2 to 3 coats. It’s my go to black alternative. Sometimes I feel like black can be a little harsh so I use this when I want to go dark. So many people rave about this that I feel like I don’t have to say much about it lol. It always works well for me and is very dependable. It’s also permanent and can be found everywhere.

  1. Very nice selection! I agree with you on discontinuing products. It's so frustrating because I've been looking for Parlez-Vous OPI forever and have bought so many “dupes” that never really get it right. Nevertheless, OPI's my fave brand. I just wish they were more available where I live. Lucky you. =] You have a very cute blog here by the way. I'll def stop by from time to time.

  4. Love these colors! I'm definitely going to have to break down and get some of these. And I totally agree about Last Friday Night. I would wear it so much more often if it wasn't so goopy! Not to mention a pain in the ass to remove.
