So I swear there will be some other posts that aren’t just about nail polish coming soon…
Anyways, this is the darkest of the 12 colors from the OPI Burlesque Collection, which came out this past holiday season.
It’s a dark purple-brown with a red microshimmer infused into it. In some lights it can look really really purple and vampy. In some lights it can lean far into the brown spectrum, especially because of the red shimmer that’s in it. You can see the difference with the two photos I have. The one above is in artificial light that’s closer to natural daylight. The one below is in artificial light which is more yellow in tone.
The polish is pretty opaque, and the formula is nothing fantastic but nothing to complain about. It’s opaque in 2 coats, but out of habit I did 3. The thing to not about this is that I did one coat on all of my nails and then went to work because that’s all I had time to do. The 2 coats that followed were about 12 hours later, after the first coat was more than just dry but also starting to wear at the tips.
I feel like it dried pretty quickly, maybe because of how I ended up applying the 3 coats. I mean I did the standard base and top coats (Zoya Anchor, Zoya Armour, Seche Vite, Zoya Fast Dry Drops) but it seemed to dry much more quickly than other polishes. It was dry to the touch in the standard amount of time, but the denting period was much shorter than normal.
